Operations Gate <Gate Config. ID> <GateStage> <GateStage> tab

A <GateStage> tab is a user-defined tab that displays the gate forms configured to process truck visits and gate transaction types at a gate stage. The number of <GateStage> tabs displayed under the Operations Gate <Gate Config. ID (on page 1)> menu corresponds to the number of gate stages configured for your site. Use the Operations Gate <Gate Config. ID (on page 1)> <GateStage> option to access the corresponding <GateStage> tab.

Keep in mind:

The areas displayed on a <GateStage> tab depend on the truck visit and gate transaction type forms defined for each gate stage. For more information on defining truck visit form and gate transaction type form, see Trk Visit form (on page 1) and Tran Type form (on page 1), respectively. In addition, whether N4 automatically fills in data in the <GateStage> tab, uses automation at this gate stage, or performs other behaviors, depends on the gate configuration in the Gate Stage form (on page 1).

At the first gate stage, the <GateStage> tab may consist of the following sub-areas:

Truck Details

The Truck Details area displays the truck visit form configured for the selected gate stage.

If you do not configure any specific form fields for the truck visit form at a gate stage, N4 displays the default truck visit form in the Search For TruckVisit/Truck Transaction area on the <GateStage> tab. The default truck visit form displays the following four fields:

If you enter a truck visit appointment in the Truck Details area or truck visit information, such as truck license or driver card ID, associated with a truck visit appointment, N4 creates a truck visit and displays any associated transaction appointments in the Appointments tab. If more than one truck visit appointment is found, N4 selects the truck visit appointment with the earliest start time. If more than one truck visit appointment has the same start time, N4 selects the one with the lowest appointment number.

Pre-Selection

The Pre-Selection area is an optional area that displays only if the truck visit form configuration includes at least one of the following fields:

If you specify the Exchange Area, N4 filters the Exchange Lane drop-down field to display only the exchange lanes associated with the selected exchange area.

If you enter a truck visit appointment number in the <GateStage> tab, N4 lists the transactions of the associated transaction appointments in the Appointments tab.

N4 uses the fields displayed in the Pre-Selection area to automatically select the gate transaction type and fills in any existing data in the gate form fields. For example, if you enter an existing appointment number in the Appointment Number field, N4 automatically selects the gate transaction type and fills in data in the gate form fields based on the data saved for the selected appointment. In addition, if you enter a container number that has an existing appointment, N4 automatically fills in the data in the gate form fields based on the existing appointment. If a container has more than one appointment, N4 searches for the appointment based on the transaction type, if selected in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area.

<GateStage> Transaction Entry

The <GateStage>Transaction Entry area displays the data entry form for the gate transaction type selected from the Select drop-down list. To enable the Select drop-down list in the <GateStage>Transaction Entry area, you must enter data in all the required fields in the Truck Details area.

If you enter an appointment number or container number that has an existing appointment, N4 automatically fills in the data in the gate form fields based on the data saved for the existing appointment.

All Transactions and other tabs

The following tabs may display at the bottom of the <GateStage> tab:

The Appointments tab contains the same columns as the Appointments view (on page 1). This tab displays all appointments that contain matching data for the following truck visit fields:

When a user enters data in the above fields in the Truck Details area, N4 searches for matching transaction appointments. N4 only displays transaction appointments that match all of the truck visit fields specified. For example, if any of the above fields contains data that does not match an appointment, then N4 does not display the appointment even if one or more of the fields do match. Therefore, if an appointment does not display, you can try limiting the truck visit data available to match. In addition, you can edit the truck visit information, as needed, in the Truck Details area and refresh the <GateStage> tab to view any matching appointments per the edited data.

N4 does not display appointments with a Used, UsedLate, or Expired state. In addition, if a Filter Appointment Type is specified in the Gate Stage form for this gate stage, N4 restricts the data displayed in the Appointments tab per the filter.

If you double-click one of the groups displayed in the Delivery Groups tab, N4 automatically selects a container associated with the group and displays the data in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area. You can edit the data and click Save Transaction to save the changes to the gate transaction.

If a gate transaction has not yet been processed at the current gate stage, you can double-click one of these gate transactions and N4 displays the data in the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area. You can then edit the data and click Save Transaction to save the changes to the gate transaction.

If you double-click one of these transactions, N4 fills the <GateStage> Transaction Entry area with the fields necessary to process the transaction. When saving the transaction, N4 updates the entry in the All Transactions section. You can then select the next associated transaction to process.

You can double-click on a saved transaction in the All Transactions tab to open it again and view the data. If the gate transaction has an OK status, you cannot edit the transaction data. However, if the gate stage has the Allow Transaction Edit check box selected and the saved transaction next stage ID equals the Allow Stage Id, then you can edit the saved gate transaction. If the gate stage has both the Allow Transaction Edit and Allow Any Stage check boxes selected, then you can edit saved transactions with a next stage ID equal to any gate stage.

In the All Transaction tab, you can right-click and select:

N4 updates the status of the gate transaction as CANCEL after you click OK in the confirmation dialog box.

You must have the Gate Transactions Actions - Cancel Transactions (TRUCK_TRANSACTION_CANCEL) privilege to access this option.

Use the Refresh option to refresh data in case an associated gate transaction is canceled from another form/list view.

If the transaction type of the selected gate transaction is UNKNOWN, N4 displays the Select Tran Type form to enable you to select a transaction type for the selected gate transaction.

At any additional ingate or outgate stage, the Gate Processing area consists of three sub-areas:

N4 displays the truck visit form defined for the selected gate stage. If a gate stage does not include a truck visit form configuration, N4 displays the default truck visit form and labels the sub-area as Search for Truck Visit/Truck Transaction.

If a truck driver needs to return to the ingate stage for additional transactions, you can enter the Truck License to resurrect the truck visit. However, you can only resurrect a truck visit within the time specified in ROADGATE004 (ACTIVE_TRUCK_VISIT) (on page 1).

N4 allows you to update the truck details at any gate stage before a truck visit is completed provided the inclusion of the editable form fields in the truck visit configuration.

The <GateStage>Transaction Entry area displays the gate form defined for the selected gate stage and gate transaction type.

The Appointments / All Transactions area displays tabs listing all of the appointments, if configured, and existing gate transactions associated with the truck visit. N4 only displays the Appointments tab if configured in the Gate Stage form for the selected gate stage.
